About the Physician

Yumie Burden, D.O.

Dr. Yumie Burden earned her D.O. (doctor of osteopathic medicine) degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine at Bradenton in 2008.  Her graduation was honored by the award of "Dedication to Primary Care in Family Medicine."  

She completed a four-year integrated residency program in Family Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine at the Botsford General Hospital (now Beaumont Hospital at Bosford) in Michigan in 2012.  During this time she served as Chief Resident of the neuromusculoskeletal department.  She also led a research project and published a paper in The AAO Journal along with her coworkers.  

Dr. Burden is dually board certified in Family Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine / Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine.  After she worked in both primary care and urgent care clinics for five years, she practiced osteopathic medicine in her private practice for four years in New Jersey prior to relocating and building a new osteopathic clinic in Mt. Juliet, TN.

Dr. Burden was born and raised in Nara, Japan, and speaks fluent Japanese.  She moved to the United States in 2001.  

Tennessee Osteopathic Medicine has been established by Dr. Burden in 2022.  She is a member of the following organizations.
